March is filling in nicely, the kind of stretch where your calendar starts to look a little more alive each day. You can feel the lead-up to Easter in small ways, fresh flowers at the market, families making weekend plans, that urge to get out before the heat settles in.

This week has a bit of everything, live music, hands-on workshops, and a few easygoing events that don’t ask much except that you show up. Even a slow walk through the gardens sounds better than staying in right now. Pick one thing that feels right, and let the rest of the week unfold from there.

🥘 Coastal traditions and golden-hued seasonal sweets

662 W Arrow Hwy, San Dimas, CA
The air in Las Palmas is a bit lighter this time of year, and the menu here follows suit with a thoughtful nod to Lenten traditions.
While the savory, steam-cooked Pescado Empapelado is a masterclass in delicate, fresh flavors, the real soul of the season is the Capirotada. It’s a warm, homemade bread pudding that feels like a shared neighborhood secret: rich, comforting, and the perfect transition into the brighter days of spring.

It is the perfect season to plan for the upcoming Easter floral class on April 17 at 6:00 pm. For $55, they provide the tools and seasonal blooms to help you craft a centerpiece. Need a quick bouquet or a creative workshop? The quality here never misses the mark.

⛰️ Beyond the "National Noise"
The world is watching the macro, Capital & Influence is watching the mustard seed bloom on our hillsides. The "halftime" flat market is over. The win belongs to the homes that show up with pride and precision.

🌼 Spring blooms take center stage

The Gist The California Botanic Garden is currently awash in the colors of blossoming wildflowers and perennials. Throughout the rest of March and much of April, the garden at 1500 N. College Avenue is hosting guided walking tours at 10 a.m. and tram tours at 2 p.m. to showcase the season's best native growth.
Why It Matters These tours provide a rhythmic, seasonal way for us to slow down and appreciate the quiet beauty that makes our local landscape so unique. Upcoming dates include March 21, 22, and several weekends in April. Tickets are available on the garden website for $20, or $10 for members.
🏮 The 626 Night Market Returns Soon

The Gist One of the country’s largest open-air food festivals returns to Southern California this summer. This massive celebration of Asian culture features over 250 vendors, offering everything from traditional street snacks like lumpia and tanghulu to creative fusion desserts and handmade goods from local artists.
Why It Matters It is a rare chance to support hundreds of small businesses while gathering with neighbors to enjoy the vibrant flavors and traditions of the San Gabriel Valley. The first event runs May 29 to 31 at the OC Fairgrounds. It then moves to Santa Anita Park in Arcadia for the weekends of June 19 to 21 and August 14 to 16.
