Hey Neighbor,
Hope your week is going well and you’re feeling that hint of change in the air: cooler nights, cozy sweaters ready for their debut, and the calm after the back-to-school frenzy. Fall’s creeping in, and I’m already imagining pumpkin pies, apple picking, and maybe a grape stomp or two.
Around here in the Foothills, life is getting back into that beautiful rhythm. Schools are open, families are settling in, and the calendar is starting to fill up with things to do. If you’re wondering “What’s happening this weekend?”, you won’t want to miss:
A Health & Resource Fair + Flu Shot Clinic in La Verne on Sept 23: perfect excuse to get out, do good, stay healthy.

In the coming weeks, watch for features on local businesses you need to know, sports highlights (high school is back in play!), and, of course, what’s happening in the Real Estate Corner: some good trends I think you’ll find helpful if you’ve been curious about market movement in the area.
Thanks for being part of this. If you saw something new, share it with someone else. And don’t forget to follow us on Instagram [@FoothillsConnection], I’ll keep dropping local vibes, photos, and little gems all week long.
Looking forward to what’s next: I think this season is going to be special.
See you around town!

🚊 All Aboard: New A Line Reaches Pomona

Photo from metro.net
The Gist: Tomorrow, September 19, we welcome a brand-new way to ride. The 9.1-mile A Line light rail extension now links Azusa to Pomona, stopping right in Glendora, San Dimas, and La Verne. To mark the occasion, neighbors are invited to gather at 11:30 a.m. at Pomona North Station, 205 Santa Fe Street, for a community celebration. Trains will run daily, early morning to midnight, with fares starting at $1.75.
Why it matters: Our foothill towns are now directly connected by rail, making travel across the valley, and into LA, easier than ever. Read more here.
🌱 Sustainable Claremont aids Eaton Fire tree recovery

The Gist: Volunteers from Sustainable Claremont brought compost and mulch to two Altadena homes, tending a dozen fire-stressed trees and building small berms so water stays at the roots instead of running into storm drains.
Why it matters: Altadena is still rebuilding after January’s Eaton Fire, which scorched hillsides and neighborhoods, and left urban trees vulnerable without extra care. Tree-care efforts continue across Altadena; residents can find recovery resources and ways to help through L.A. County’s fire recovery hub. Read more here.
