June arrives quietly in the foothills. One week the jacarandas are everywhere, then they're gone, and suddenly it's warm, clear, and feeling a lot like summer (even if the calendar isn't quite there yet). The kind of weather that makes you want to sit outside with a good meal or wander somewhere new.

There's a lot going on this week worth knowing about. Some news that's been a long time coming, a couple of local spots worth putting on your radar, and a week of events that gives you plenty of reasons to get out of the house.
The corridor has a lot going on. Here's what you need to know.

🏘️ Mercy Claremont clears major funding hurdle

The Gist: Mercy Claremont, a planned 74-unit affordable housing community for veterans and families, secured a $19.4 million funding award from LA County.
The project is now about halfway funded, with developers aiming to break ground in summer 2027 if state tax credits come through.
Why It Matters: Housing affordability affects all of us, especially veterans struggling to find stable homes. This funding moves a long-discussed project closer to reality and shows county resources are finally helping local projects get off the drawing board.
