🎬 Regency Takes Over Claremont’s Laemmle 5 This January
The Gist: Claremont’s longtime Laemmle 5 will change hands with Regency Theatres set to take over the familiar Village venue. Laemmle says gift cards, premier cards, and frequent moviegoer tickets need to be used before the transition. The sale follows slow post-pandemic attendance and competition from the newer Montclair AMC. Regency, which runs 28 theaters across the region, is expected to bring a fresh look and new energy to the 17 year old space.
Why It Matters: The theater is one of Claremont’s few shared gathering spots, and locals want to keep it thriving. Regency begins operations in late January.
⛽ Gas Prices Keep Sliding in LA County
The Gist: LA County drivers are seeing a bit of relief at the pump. The average price for regular gas dipped again, now at $4.771, the 13th straight day of small declines. Prices are down more than 11 cents in under two weeks, helped by a rebound in refinery production. Orange County prices held steady at $4.715 after earlier increases.
Why It Matters: A little price relief is welcome as nearly six million Southern Californians gear up for Thanksgiving road trips.
