Somewhere between the last day of July and the first hint of August, there's a stretch where the foothills feel unusually generous. Free museum days. Farmers markets stacked two deep with peaches. 🚧 Claremont Boulevard reopens to traffic
The Gist: A section of Claremont Boulevard between Sixth Street and Foothill Boulevard has reopened to traffic after being closed since November 2025. Drivers can now use one lane in each direction, and the new traffic signal at Ninth Street is now operational.
Why It Matters: If you've been detouring around this stretch of Claremont Boulevard, getting through the area should be a little easier again. Just keep in mind the road is still an active construction zone, so expect crews and occasional delays as work continues through the fall.

The Gist: After a successful first donation drive, Claremont's We Care Big is expanding its efforts to support families through CUSD's Student and Family Resource Center. Organizers are building partnerships with local businesses and working toward a sustainable, long-term community program.
Why It Matters: If you've been looking for a way to help local families, We Care Big is making it easier to get involved. The group hopes to turn one-time donations into lasting community support, helping keep food and everyday essentials available for neighbors who need them.
